You will get cheaper rates if you book during the low season and January falls within the low season. The high season is June - September. Also if you are on budget you should get smaller travel agents - they will give you good rates. I am a tour guide / consultant based in Nairobi. I deal with budget safaris around east africa. You can get me at I can assist you to choose the best Kenya safari. Please feel free to contact me for further enquiries.

It all depends on the type of the safari you want. Generally you will get priced according to your demand. if you book a safari early in advance and commit your self with a deposit you are likely to get it cheeper. Nevertheless you can organise a cheap package on arrival in kenya where they have very competitive pricing and you will get really a good price if you keep on their bergaining culture. for more information on cheap priced packege write to and the guys there seem to do a perfect job. Another place to look at is. they did offer the best rates for a mount kenya climb. Expect to use between USD90 to USD120 per day. and this will be hire incase you need to use a lodge instead of a camp.
